Piekstroom: Supermoon + Dj Ray Averson

Supermoon makes infectious 70s funk music, drawing influences from bands like 'Sly And the Family Stone' and 'The Meters'. The result is an otherworldly combination of thick groove, rock-solid harmonies and a dose of accents that fly around your ears at a rapid pace.

After two EPs, over 300 shows, airplay on national radio, a sold-out release show in Melkweg Amsterdam and support shows of Average White Band and UB40, it is now time for the debut album, the first single of which was released on 1 July 2022. Once again, expect uptempo funk of the highest order in which the upbeat and danceable music contrasts in a cool way with frontman Daan Krakers' meaningful lyrics.

In the 1980s, I bought my Vinyl Import records weekly at Kareltje on Mariaplaats in Utrecht. I also listened daily to Radio Midstad where the latest Disco and Soul Import records were played.
Mixing started in 2018 as a hobby at parties. After sitting behind the oldschool DJ set a few times, I realised that this is actually a lot of fun.

I created my own house music style: Mingle House.
This is a mix of: Soulfulhouse; Progressive House; Latin House; Funky House; NuDisco; Afrohouse, melodic house and deephouse.
