Eddie and the Hotrods (UK)

Eddie & The Hot Rods, one of the most influential and recognisable names on the English rock scene, have had a career spanning more than 40 years. In 1977 they played at The Peak for the first time, in 1997 and 2007 they played at The Peak again. And so in 2026 for the 4th time!

Although they are often seen as one of the founding fathers of the punk era, they were simply out to play loud, fast, raw rock 'n' roll, and that has remained true to this day. Their energy and attitude endeared them to punks, but the hard and fast style that made them one of the most exciting bands of the time has never really dated or gone out of style. Eddie & The Hot Rods were included in the Mojo Top 100 most influential bands and are often cited as an inspiration for many up-and-coming bands.

Sadly, in October 2019 came the terrible news that founder Barrie Masters had passed away at the age of just 63 after a legendary career at the front of the band. Decisions on the band's future were soon overshadowed by the global Covid-19 pandemic, which effectively shut down all live music activities for the following 18 months.

Thanks to the enduring appeal of the music, the support of their fans and an inexhaustible desire to get on stage and make noise, the band decided to continue touring, with a new album and, as always, with the utmost respect for Barrie's memory.

With Ian 'Dipster' Dean as frontman, Simon 'Basher' Bowley on drums and Richard Holgarth on guitar, this line-up has been the core of The Hot Rods for 25 years. Together with bassist Mic Stoner (ex-Chords UK), they perform an energetic mix of classic Eddie & The Hot Rods songs such as Teenage Depression, Quit This Town, Life On The Line, Gloria *and the UK Top 10 hit *Do Anything You Wanna Do, alongside newer songs from their last three studio albums, including 2023's Guardians of the Legacy, which yielded a No 1 hit with Paradise and three other singles that reached the Top 5: New Frontier, A Million Miles and the album's title track.

Eddie & The Hot Rods have recently been featured on their own headlining tours in the UK, Spain, France and Finland. They also toured with Stiff Little Fingers (2019), Nine Below Zero (2021/22) and previously with Status Quo during their arena tour in 2012. In addition, they regularly share the stage for shorter sets with old friends such as Dr Feelgood, Department S and The Members.

Besides their regular tours of Europe, they completed their fifth tour of the US a few years ago and toured Japan twice.

Whether in an arena, theatre, club or festival, Eddie & The Hot Rods always deliver a dazzling, energetic blast of pure rock and roll.
