Gruppo Sportivo will exist half a century in 2026. It is also the year when the band, originally from The Hague, will tour pop venues and festivals with a final tour. "We are still in good spirits now and want to say goodbye to the stage at a high point. Therefore one more tour to never forget," said singer/guitarist Hans Vandenburg. To add his typical joke: "Stop motion before we have to be recorded for a long time..."

 

Besides characteristic frontman and creative force Vandenburg, the line-up includes vocalists Lies Schilp & Inge Bonthond aka Bombitas. Keyboardist is youthful talent Len de Quant, who took over from his proud teacher and prematurely deceased Peter Calicher in 2024. Of course, primal member and drummer Max Mollinger as well as bassist Tim Barning are back in the mix.

 

Hey Girl, Beep Beep Love, Disco Really Made It, Tokyo and Rock 'n Roll are some of the Nederpop classics we can expect. But knowing Gruppo Sportivo, the legendary band will also make some quirky choices from its extensive repertoire.
