Jingle Belles Rock ’n’ Roll Christmas transforms Podium De Piek into a world of powerful femme fatales, roaring guitars and driving double basses.

 

GASOLINE, Wild May West and Thee Shithole Shakers will be delivering an evening of live music rooted in rockabilly and rock ’n’ roll, complemented by western swing, blues, country and garage rock. With the lead singers of GASOLINE and Wild May West at the forefront of the stage, the temperature is set to soar this Christmas.

 

Gasoline

 

GASOLINE are travelling from Brittany to Vlissingen. The four-piece band consists of three French musicians and an Englishman from Newcastle. At the forefront are two female singers who take turns on lead vocals and harmonise beautifully in powerful, multi-part choruses. Their voices form the band’s distinctive centrepiece, underpinned by a blend of rockabilly, rock ’n’ roll and western swing.

 

Since forming in 2018, GASOLINE have performed at venues and festivals in France, Austria and the United Kingdom. During this gig at De Piek, the band will perform tracks from their debut album. In addition, the audience will get a first taste of six new songs from their second album, which is scheduled for release in spring or summer 2027.

 

Wild May West

 

Wild May West has been a well-known name on the Dutch rockabilly and blues scene for many years. The band from Vlissingen combines rockabilly and rock ’n’ roll with a distinct blues influence. Double bass, guitars and drums form the basis for a repertoire featuring music by acts including The Paladins, The Seatsniffers, The Radio Kings, The Go-Getters and The Stray Cats.

 

At the forefront is Marja Westdijk. With her powerful vocals and distinctive stage presence, she plays a major role in defining the band’s character. She puts her own stamp on the songs and switches effortlessly between swinging rockabilly, hard-hitting rock ’n’ roll and blues.

 

The Shithole Shakers

 

Thee Shithole Shakers ramp up the tempo even further with country, rock ’n’ roll and garage rock. Their repertoire features influences from Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Dave Edmunds. The band opts for a raw, unpolished sound, with guitars and rhythms played right up close to the audience.

 

Jingle Belles Rock ’n’ Roll Christmas puts three female frontwomen in the spotlight: the two lead singers from GASOLINE and Marja Westdijk from Wild May West. Together with Thee Shithole Shakers, they’ll deliver a varied rock ’n’ roll programme and a cracking evening of live music at De Piek.
