Cockaphonix (USA) + Morjak

Door open 20:30 | Start 21:00 | Presale € 10,00 | Tickets € 12,00

Imagine a debauched saloon full of dancing spirits, a New Orleans street party that completely derails, and on top of that, a pinch of insane circus energy.

Cockaphonix sounds exactly as their name suggests: loud, colourful and totally unfiltered!
Since 2017, Rayko Stanislav and Holiday Dan have been making noise on a 100-year-old piano and a drum kit that has probably been through a "Wild West" firefight before.

What started as a devilish jam grew into a full-fledged live show that you undergo rather than just watch. These days, the band travels with a full horn section, including valve trombone, trumpet and a tuba that makes more noise than a herd of stampeding elephants.

The result? A musical circus in which punk, jazz and pure chaos go hand in hand.
"Hard to describe, but even harder to take your eyes off during a performance."
- Yakima Herald

On tour in Europe for the first time in 2025, and due to huge success, a new and longer tour in 2026!
You won't want to miss this show. Your dancing shoes as well as your common sense will have a tough time.

**Morjak** is back on shore for a while, and when the sailor is home, people dance on the table...

Morjak was the name of a Russian sailor's magazine in the early nineteenth century, and means Sailor. Wiebe Radstake, a sailing sailor in daily life, started up Morjak in 2018 by making the album 'Free Flying Fish'. Together with Stefan Fokker, he recorded and self-released 18 songs. This was followed by a short tour before Wiebe embarked on another sea ramble.

Morjak's music is unpolished music reminiscent of the creaking of a ship, the whistling of the wind in the rigging, the rumbling over the ocean and sometimes, on the contrary, the desperate drifting around in wind stillness. Morjak is unruly, from rural blues to the roll of the city. Think of Tom Waits, De Kift or Morphine embarking on an old sailing ship and putting their experiences to music.

The lyrics in Dutch are mostly about love of the sea, longing for home or the wonderful world called everyday existence. Cut-and-paste techniques are used so that seemingly normal sentences take on a slightly different context, allowing the absurdity of life to permeate Morjak's music.
