Madless brings Madness to De Piek on 13 February

Anyone who feels the urge to jump at the first notes of ‘One Step Beyond’ will be in exactly the right place at De Piek on 13 February. That’s when Madless will be on stage: a Dutch tribute band entirely dedicated to the British ska legends Madness.

From the late 1970s onwards, Madness grew to become one of the best-known bands of the 2-Tone movement, with a catchy mix of ska, pop, reggae and British humour. Hits such as ‘Our House’, ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘Embarrassment’, ‘House of Fun’ and ‘Night Boat to Cairo’ are now part of the collective musical memory.

With Madless, it’s all about that quintessential Madness vibe. The band draws on a repertoire full of classics, supplemented with less obvious tracks for the true aficionados. Tight brass, bouncy rhythms and a healthy dose of enthusiasm form the common thread.

The musicians share a great love for ska, reggae and 2-Tone, and you can hear it. This isn’t a detached recreation of a famous band, but a group that clearly enjoys the music they play.

From Camden Town to Vlissingen

On 13 February, De Piek in Vlissingen will be transformed into a little piece of Camden Town for one night.
