Fortune Child brings raw rock ’n’ roll to De Piek in Vlissingen

On Friday 11 December 2026 , the American power trio Fortune Child will take to the stage at De Piek . An explosive mix of rock ’n’ roll, blues, soul and psychedelic influences, delivered with compelling guitar riffs, powerful vocals and hypnotic grooves.

 

Fortune Child was formed in 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. The band consists of guitarist Buddy Crump , bassist Jon Ward and drummer and lead singer Christian Powers . Together, they draw on the energy and freedom of the great rock bands of the 1970s, without sounding like a retro act.

 

Fortune Child’s music is heavy, dynamic and surprisingly versatile. Hefty riffs alternate with soulful vocals, long jams and adventurous psychedelic passages. Influences from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Alice in Chains and The Black Crowes are clearly audible, but the trio puts a modern and distinctive spin on them.

Fortune Child are known for their energetic and exceptionally tight live performances. The three musicians demonstrate just how much power can be generated by a minimal line-up. Their shows revolve around ensemble playing, improvisation and the pure experience of live music.

 

The band has previously shared the stage with notable acts such as The Black Crowes, Joe Bonamassa, Cedric Burnside, JJ Grey & Mofro, All Them Witches and Shovels & Rope. Fortune Child have also worked with producer and engineer Kevin Elson, known for his work with acts including Journey, Mr Big and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

On 11 December, De Piek will be transformed into a raucous rock club where gritty guitars, soulful vocals and rousing rhythms take centre stage.
