Scallywags, The Shivvies & Destroy oh Boy

 

 

SCALLYWAGS
Throw Poison Idea, Slapshot, S.O.D. and Circle Jerks in the blender and you get Scallywags from Middelburg! Punk songs around the minute. That's what the band has loved to play since 2001. The birthday party because of their 25th anniversary is at De Piek with their friends from The Shivvies and Destroy-Oh-Boy as support!

 

2021's 7-inch Scare tactics is Scallywags' fourth and most recent release. The self-titled debut appeared in 2003, followed by Fucked up and fed up (2005) and The Spaghetti sessions (2013). The band consists of Jan-Willem Hamelink (vocals), Chris Marijs (guitar), Jeroen Mol (bass) and Sander de Wilde (drums). The group is currently working on a new release.

 

At De Piek, Scallywags will play a mix of their own songs and covers from Bad Brains to Mudhoney!

 

THE SHIVVIES

Punk rock from Rotterdam, building on the 1-2-3-4 tradition that earned the Maas city the title Punk Rock City at the turn of the millennium through bands like The Apers, The Raging Hormones, Accelerators and the like.

 

The Shivvies, formed in 2020, comprises members of The Apers, The Windowsill, The Real Danger, Giant Eagles and Accelerators. In 2021, the band's first feat saw the light of day; an LP with 14 songs, released on Shield Recordings. The album was released on tape in the US via Memorable But Not Honorable records.In 2023, the band played a good number of small punk shows and bigger festival gigs, such as Jera On Air, Scumbash, and Punk Rock Raduno in Bergamo (IT). Two new records follow in 2024, namely the second album, Punk Boys, and an EP entitled Take on the Night, again on Shield Recordings.

 

Needless to say, The Shivvies sound like Ramones.
